We are a respected East London double glazing installer and repair company. Our double glazed windows are constructed within own factory / Showroom using only quality materials which come with a long warranty so you can have peace of mind espicially as all our Aluminium products are supplied by Smart Sytems.
Our company is listed on Which's online consumer guide with a rating of 5 stars as well as other independent testimonials to the quality of product and service that we provide to our customers.
Having double glazed windows need not be complicated however, if the job isn't done properly, there could be serious consequences: your home could be left open to the weather – or even burglars. But you have legal rights to ensure the double glazing company does a good job.
Your rights to good-quality work by double glazing installers:
Under the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982 any double glazing installation should:
Be done using ‘reasonable care and skill’ – The standard you could expect from a reasonably competent double glazing installer
The windows should be made with materials that are ‘of satisfactory quality’ and ‘fit for their purpose’
Be ‘as described’ – for example, if you ordered locks and handles with a brass finish, the double glazing company can’t supply them with a chrome finish instead.
If the double glazing installer doesn’t meet any of the above conditions they are in breach of contract.
If the double glazing installer breaches its contract with you, you have the right to:
- have any problems with the windows repaired or replaced. The double glazing company can decide whether to repair or replace items, based on which is cheaper.
- have any poor-quality work put right.
If the double glazing installer caused damage to your property, you also have the right to have it fixed.
The double glazing company has to make sure that any repair or replacement is carried out ‘within a reasonable time but without causing significant inconvenience’. If it doesn’t, you have the right to:
- pay a lower price for the windows
- end the contract (called ‘recision’) and get back any money you’ve paid, though generally only if the work hasn't started
- get another double glazing installer to do the work, and claim the cost back from the original company.

Depending on the job, you may need planning permission or building regulations approval - for more information see the Which? guide to Tradespeople. As the property owner, it is your responsibility to make sure that the work has the necessary permission and approval, though some double glazing installers’ contracts may say that they will do this. Either way, it is best to agree with the double glazing installer who will check planning permission and building regulation requirements.
